Forge Greensboro names Jennie Savage as Programs Director
(Greensboro, NC) -- Forge Greensboro announces the promotion of Programs Coordinator, Jennie Savage, to Programs Director responsible for the growth and creation of new and existing programming.
Savage joined the Forge staff as their second employee in 2018 as a part-time Operations Assistant to the Executive Director. The added staff capacity has allowed the Forge to launch successful pilots and explore new programming in Youth STEAM Education, Pre-Apprenticeship and the Skills Pipeline, and grow offerings for Triad Entrepreneurs.
As the Forge’s Programs Coordinator for the past 3 years, Savage has expanded the makerspace’s adult class offerings exponentially. Her role aided in the expansion of member capacity and retention by launching training programs and growing the Forge’s volunteer Shop Mentor talent pool. “Jennie’s unique combination of persistence, attention to detail, and creativity has been vital to developing our current and future role in the community,” says Joe Rotondi, the Forge’s Executive Director.
Jennie is a Florida native, holds Bachelor’s degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is a practicing visual artist herself. “Being able to get the resources the Forge has into as many curious hands as possible has been a strong driving force in what I do,” she says of her time with the organization. “Watching people creatively flourish in this community is a perk that keeps me excited to grow with Forge Greensboro.”
