Chris Rivera serves as the Executive Director for the Guilford County Workforce Development Board (GuilfordWorks); which administers federal employment and training programs to job seekers and businesses throughout Guilford County. He is responsible for providing administrative oversight of workforce development programs and implementing strategic initiatives throughout Guilford County, while facilitating the development of community partnerships that are in support of the organization's strategic goals and mission. Chris began his workforce career in 2008, having served as the Business Services Director for the Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance, prior to moving to North Carolina in 2013. He has led services in 3 workforce regions throughout North Carolina and prides himself on creating innovative programs and strategic partnerships that enhance services to communities. Chris holds a Bachelors of Public Administration and is an active member of the National Association of Workforce Development Boards and the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals.
Anthony Banks began his career as a Detention Officer in Greensboro, NC. He earned a degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University. As a Detention officer, he worked in the first Court Alternative School in Guilford County helping justice served youth stay in school and obtain their High School Diploma.
In 2007, Anthony transitioned from the Department of Corrections into the field of education. As the Adult Secondary Education Coordinator, Anthony served more than 6,000 students who were seeking to earn a High School Equivalency Diploma, learn the English language, or become citizens of the United States in the Continuing Education Department at Guilford Technical Community College for more than 12years.
Anthony now serves as the Resident Engagement Services Manager at Greensboro Housing Authority. In this role, Anthony has the responsibility of implementing supportive services for families, youth, and seniors in all of the Greensboro Housing Programs. These housing programs include both public and tenant-based project voucher households. Anthony is also responsible for administering housing authority policies, procedures and the management of social services that promote self-sufficiency.
In the community, Anthony proudly serves on the United Way African American Leadership Committee and serves as Board Chair of the Housing Consultants Group. Anthony is a Guilford Technical Community College President Leadership Institute Graduate and received GTCC’s Presidential award in 2019.
Anthony has a loving wife Dr. Charlos Banks of 10 years and three children; Anyia age 19, Anthony age 16, and Charleston age 9.
Dr. Jason J. Caldwell received a Bachelor of Music Education degree with a minor in Spanish from UNCG, a Master of Arts in Religion with a concentration in Church Ministries from Liberty University and received his Doctor of Management with a concentration in Global Leadership from Colorado Technical University, where he was inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society.
Dr. Caldwell coupled his passion for degree attainment with nonprofit engagement and served for 3 years as the Executive Director of Degrees Matter, a Guilford County initiative housed at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro. After his tenure with Degrees Matter, Dr. Caldwell transitioned to serve as the Community College Strategic Partnership Manager for Western Governors University North Carolina. Dr. Caldwell was appointed by the Dean of the Willie A. Deese College of Business and Economics at NC A&T State University to serve as the Interim Assistant Dean for Student Success, while the search for a permanent Assistant Dean was underway. After completing his time in that role, Dr. Caldwell joined the faculty as a full-time adjunct faculty member in the management department.
Dr. Caldwell serves on the Excellence Foundation Board of Directors for the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as well the Alumni Leadership and is also the Chairman of the NC Works Career Centers Partners Development Board of Guilford County. Dr. Caldwell is also a proud member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc, where he serves as the assistant executive director for the Association of North Carolina Alphamen Education Consortium and the Director of Educational Activities for his local chapter.
Dr. Caldwell received a certificate in Advanced Intercultural Management from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business, certified to administer the intercultural sensitivity effectiveness model by the Kozai Group, and was a 2015 Fellow at the Princeton Theological Seminary Leadership and Black Church Studies program. Dr. Caldwell is the CEO and Founder of the UBUNTU consulting group that focuses on intercultural development and improving management practices.
